At first glance, CBD for pain management sounds like a dream come true: You don’t need a doctor’s prescription for CBD derived from the industrial hemp plant, it’s not addictive, it’s compatible with other drugs, it’s obviously plant based, it doesn’t make you high and it’s nearly impossible to overdose on it. Very few other painkillers can make those claims.
But does it really work?
Of course you can try it for yourself and come to your own conclusions about using CBD for pain, as millions of people have already done. In fact, a recent Gallup poll revealed that 1 in 7 Americans, or 14% of the population, uses CBD. Of that 14%, 40% uses CBD for pain. The next largest segment, 20%, uses CBD for anxiety, followed by 11% using it for sleep.
But there isn’t much clinical research out there that proves or disproves the benefits of CBD for pain or anything else, really. So we at BioFit360 decided to conduct a little research of our own. We teamed up with the Physical Therapy Sports Institute (PTSI) to find out what happens when you combine our topical Relief Cream with physical therapy.
A total of 89 patients completed the study. Most were being treated for injury, recovery from surgery or a fall, and arthritis. Over a two week period, the patients received physical therapy treatments, performed physical therapy exercises, and used the Relief Cream, which contains 500mg CBD in each jar.
Now anyone who’s ever had physical therapy and/or done physical therapy exercises knows that they can be painful, and can make you sore afterwards, even though their goal is to heal and reduce pain. “No pain, no gain” doesn’t necessarily apply here. We should all be able to agree that one of the main reasons we go to physical therapy is to reduce the darn pain we’re experiencing.
So the physical therapists were thrilled to discover that a whopping 72% of the patients enrolled in the study said they had a decrease in pain when using the BioFit360 Relief Cream in conjunction with specified physical therapy exercises.
Not only that, but along with reduced pain levels, the participants’ depression and anxiety levels dropped over the course of the study. Woo hoo!
And here’s another fascinating find: Women experienced more pain relief than men, with an astonishing 85% of women enrolled in the study achieving pain relief from their initial visit, compared to 54% of men.
You can see the actual White Paper written on the study, with more facts, findings and methodology written here.
But we all know that the only way you can know for yourself whether or not it works is by experiencing it yourself. You can try the topical cream, and everything else in our BioFit360 line, in our Sample Pak. And if you want to just dive right in (why wait for relief?) you can purchase a 2oz jar of the cream, containing 500mg CBD and other soothing ingredients like Celadrin®, peppermint oil and menthol, here.
Millions of people have gone before you and found that CBD helps reduce pain for maximum gain. Why not give it a try?
By now you’ve probably heard the claims that CBD for pain management is the balm. But is it really? We conducted some research to find out.
